What Can You Get For a Dollar?

I love the dollar store! I can get sucked in there for an hour or more, just strolling up and down the aisles, looking at all the neat stuff that is ONLY A DOLLAR! While some of it is junk (i.e. clown figurines and seashell art), there are actually some great things to be found at the dollar store. Here's my list of great finds.

1. Gift Bags and Gift Wrap
There is a fantastic selection of really nice gift bags in every dollar store that I frequent. These can be really expensive in card shops and big chain stores. In addition to gift bags there are great ribbons, tissue paper, and gift tags too.
2. Party Supplies
You can get all your paper plates, cups, napkins and cutlery for your shin-dig at a fraction of the cost party supply stres charge. If you are having a theme party, go with white or clear cups and plates and spend the money you saved on cool decorations instead.
3. Bath Supplies
Soap, Loofahs, Bath gel, disposable razors, etc. If you are expecting overnight guests, this can make a really great hospitality gift. Make up a small basket for the bathroom they will be using, filled with incidentals like extra washcloths, a spare toothbrush, and some bath gel with a new bath pouf- all from the Dollar Store. Travel sized shampoos and toothastes can go in here as well. That way you guests won't have to come ask you should they need any of these extras. And it will look so Martha Stewart of you that they'll never guess it was all so thrifty!
4. Emergency Sunglasses
I am blind as a bat without sunglasses, especially when I'm driving. I have found fantastic sunglasses at the dollar store which I store in the glove-compartment in my car just in case I forget or lose my original pair. It's also a nice guesture to offer your passenger if you're driving into the sun and they are sans shades.
